Game Art: Akihiko Taniguchi's Jump From (2007)

Share

A recursive interactive artwork from Japanese artist Akihiko Taniguchi: the main screen displays Super Mario Bros. playable with the NES controller, but when the player "jumps" by pressing a button on the joypad, the screen shows a previous jump, enacted by the artist. This creates a powerful ludic dissonance, where present and past are intertwined.
