"Sim City" is a series of paintings about a virtual megalopolis imagine by Sim Chan (b. 1987) young Chinese artist living in Hong Kong, an obvious fan of Will Wright's urban simulation. The fact that Chan's first name is Sim makes this artwork uber-referential. As he writes on his blog, "The series of ‘Sim City’ evolves from personal considerations between remembering and forgetting the past. Each work has been built from the outcomes of the last, the works represent ways to personally involve and acknowledge the memories of entangled histories of the city." (Chan)
