The internet may have killed the porn industry, but - as we mentioned before - Oculus Rift will likely revitalize it. Consider this teaser by the "Veiviev Corporation", a mysterious company from Suffolk, UK, whose goal is to " to create more enjoyable and pleasurable artificial liaisons." Apparently, Veiviev sits "at the cutting edge of digital and analogue human replication." They seek perfection of " VIRTUAL HUMANS, ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE, ROBOTICS, ANDROIDS." (quoted verbatim). A mix of Tyrell Corporation, 1990s VR cybersex male fantasies, digital misogyny, acute misanthopy, and baudrillardian simulacra. David (or Brandon) Cronenberg should keep an eye - actually, two - on this thing.
