Game Art: Tzeni Argyriou's "See You in Walhalla" (2011)

"Fwd: See You in Walhalla utilizes new technologies to talk about today’s human being living in a highly saturated technological environment. However the use of technology is not in itself the goal but the medium to express Walhalla voyage; A complex web of fantastical events, experienced from pre-recorded film, two interconnected performers, interactively controlled sound and video controlled by movements of the performer on stage, web and surveillance cams capture unpredictable site-specific performance of the performer in the city – all these components form the 3D game environment. A multi-media dance/theatre project that presents an unusual journey of a fictional video game “avatar” through a haunted urban landscape composed of digital fragments from the spectacle of Europe."
