Game Art: Trevor Murray's "Nocturne" (2012)
Nocturne is a walkthrough of a level built from scratch as the final project for a game audio class by New York artist Trevor Murray. As he explains on his blog, "Each stone plinth has an associated musical layer, which the player unlocks by lighting a fire atop the plinth.". Murray produced the music, sound design, level design, art, and programming. The game was built in UDK, and all audio programming and implementation was done with Kismet. A terrific project indeed which combines the visual with the aural.
