Roy Ananda, Thin Walls Between Dimension, installation, 2018 Photograph: Saul SteedRoy Ananda’s massive sculptural tribute to Dungeons and Dragons represents the chasm between an imagined world and a real one. The work premiered at the Adelaide Biennial of Australian art. Born in Adelaide, South Australia, Ananda is a graduate of Adelaide Central School of Art where he received a Bachelor of Visual Arts (Honours) in 2001. Ananda has exhibited widely around Australia and more recently overseas. Selected group shows include: Primavera, Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney (2004); the Australian Drawing Biennale, the Drill Hall Gallery, Australian National University, Canberra (2004); and Flipside, The Substation, Singapore (2008). Major solo exhibitions include: Put a sock in it and Terraformer (both at Dianne Tanzer Gallery, Melbourne, 2008 and 2009 respectively); A is for Anvil, West Space, Melbourne (2006); Big Racket, Gippsland Art Gallery, Sale (2008); and Permission Slip, Gallery 4a, Asia-Australia Arts Centre, Sydney (2008).LINK:
