Game Art: Robert Hidgin' "Big-Eye Trevally" (2014)

Is this Ecco the Dolphin for Oculus Rift? Not quite. But almost. Considering that "immersion" is still the dominant metaphor for virtual reality, the idea of swimming in a digital sea of "20,000 to 40,000 big-eye trevally shoal as part of a mating ritual" makes perfect sense. Inspired by a photo published by the National Geographic, "Big-Eye Trevally" features models created by Sam Kevern. The demo was developed with Cinder.
