Game Art: R. Guillaume Bourdon's "Caprices de Second Life en ruines" (2013 - ongoing)

An interesting project intersecting different disciplines: new media studies, media archeology, digital preservation and Game Art by Canadian artist R. Guillaume Bourdon aka RGB.

 As Bourdon explains:
"This is a series of short scenes I took while exploring parts of an abandoned island in the game Second Life. I've been trying to research the deteriorating state of the game whereas areas are completely left barren of human activity, yet still exist in the virtual space, somewhere on a server at Linden Lab. Throughout this research, I've come past an island, a section representing Art inside the game, and played with the idea that this could be a metaphor to the abandonment of galleries in real life by mass media."
