Game Art: Juan Carlos de la Parra's "The Game is Never Over" (2013)

Several Juan Carlos de la Parra's video works incorporate the asthetics and logics of videogames. "The Game is Never Over", for instance, borrows the conventions of 2D platform games, with an added political element mostly absent from contemporary commercial productions. de la Parra is a Mexican multimedia artist and professor working primarily with video, sound, digital technology, and text. de la Parra graduated from the Universidad Iberoamericana and holds a Masters degree in Interactive Systems MECAD in Barcelona. His works have been exhibited at various festivals around the world, including Catalonia, Malaga, Toronto, British Columbia, and Mexico (Guanajuato, Merida, San Cristobal de las Casas, Monterrey and Tijuana). He currently lives in Mexico City.
