Game Art: Florent Deloison's "La rhétorique peut casser des briques" (2013)
In Florent Deloison's installation, La rhétorique peut casser des briques, visitors can interact with Tetris by using their voice. Three factors make this piece particularly interesting. First, its vintage character: the French artist used a NES version of Tetris. Secondly, he relied on a second dead medium to create its interface, namely, a rotary phone. Lastly, in addition to basic commands like "left, right, up, down" Deloison's system can recognize the visitor's sentences, synonyms, antonyms, and even figures of speech. Born in Amiens, France in 1983, Deloison lives and works in Paris.
