To create Tweet Shot, Canadian artist and Assistant Professor of Digital Art & Painting at Allegheny College in Meadville, Pennsylvania Byron Rich modded a fictional game gun control device and connected it to a laptop computer. In Version 1.0, When the trigger is pulled by a visitor, an email is automatically generated and sent to a central email account. At that point, a Facebook post and image upload is initiated. The email and Facebook post log the time, date and location of the action of the gun. According to Rich, Tweet Shot

[E]xists on the boundary of reality and fiction offering insight into the future of weaponization and gun control legislation. Intended as a glimpse into gun culture and the potential in public shaming, or conversely, glorification of an act of violence in the social media sphere.

The newly released version 2.0 features real-time video and Instagram integration.LINK: Byron Rich Submitted by Matteo Bittanti (Images courtesy of the artist)
