"Medium_Massage 2.0 features work from pioneers of net art from the 90s to a new generation of artists who explore networked media is their multidisciplinary practice. The exhibition includes a new expanded version of The Medium is the Massage matched with compositionally similar images using google algorithms; a sorrybot that gives a unique apology to every citizen on earth; new web software that re-invents the way artists communicate with the media; an archeological examination of 8 bit-graphic images and obsolescent media through daily floppy disc mining; and more!"

Artists include:
Myfanwy Ashmore
Jeremy Bailey
David Jhave Johnston
Mouchette (Martine Neddam)
Rafaël Rozendaal
Cheryl Sourkes
Donna Szoke
KD Thornton

Curated by Michael Alstad, Medium_Massage 2.0 is presented by YZO in conjunction with the McLuhan100 Festival. A selection of Medium_Massage 2.0 artists will crossover from a virtual to a gallery medium at the Contact Gallery in Toronto.

Myfanwy Ashmore will exhibit "Grand Theft Love Song "(which has also been shown at the Surrey Art Gallery, in the performance Mobius Rings in Stratford, and in Videoholica International Video Art Festival in Bulgaria) at Gallery 1313 (Toronto) between Nov 2-13 2011 as part of The Message, a show curated by Phil Anderson. Subtitled "New Media Artists Influenced by Marshall McLuhan" the show brings together some amazing "early warning system(s)" and "antennae of the race", as the Canadian thinker put it (via Ezra Pound).
