Event: "Heart Games. A celebration of gaming culture" (Sept 22 - Dec 15 2012, Östergötland Museum, Sweden)
Scandinavia is the most exciting place for Game Art as "Heart Games. A celebration of gaming culture", a new exhibition organized by the Östergötlands museum confirms. The event is scheduled for September 22 2012 and features a killer list of contemporary artists engaging with gaming culture, technology, and asthetics. Unmissable.
"Computer games have long been in culture but sullied the reputation as the gaming media has become an established form of entertainment, we have also been able to see a change in the game's cultural value. Not least thanks to a younger generation of creators and artists inspired by the form of culture they grew up with - video games.
Heart Game is our tribute to the video game culture. We have collected art from primarily Swedish and Nordic designers but also displays the works of selected international artists.
In the Heart game you will find paintings, illustrations, interactive art games, crafts and installs all of which have a connection to computer games world. We want to showcase art games that attract and challenge both players a traditional art audience. Heart game open in Östergötland Museum on September 22, in conjunction with the Arts Festival City Art Link."
