EVENT: DEVIANT GAME SPACE (JANUARY 17 2026, ISTRES, FRANCE)

Chloé Desmoineaux presents Deviant Game Space , a space-time that brings together creators and amateurs around an alternative video game factory.
Saturday, January 17, 2026, 2-4 p.m.
Espace Pluriel Jeunes d'Istres, Istres Media Library, NEXUS – virtual reality space and Micro-Folie d'Istres with the OutLows Gaming association, Le Coluche Cinema and Polaris art center in Istres
This workshop offers an immersive experience in the artistic creation of video games, using free and accessible tools and creative repurposing. Through an approach that blends digital tinkering, retro practices, and critical experimentation, participants will discover how to rethink the traditional mechanics of certain games and their relationship to the controller to imagine unique interactive works. The workshop will also be an opportunity to discover the work of Chloé Desmoineaux, an artist whose hybrid creations navigate between playful repurposing and interactive installation.
A third workshop will take place on Saturday, January 31, from 3pm to 5pm at the media library during the Night of Reading.
Chloé Desmoineaux is a creator of playable installations and digital works, and a curator of independent games. Inspired by tactical media and hacking practices, they experiment with gameplay through détournement and explore alternative ways of designing screen-controller interaction. Chloé also gives lectures on subversive video game practices and leads workshops that explore various transfeminist and technofeminist practices (digital autonomy through recycling, collaborative game development spaces focused on queer narratives and game mechanics, speculative fiction writing, etc.).
