In Matthieu Cherubini's latest video game, 35,000 feet, players can experience the thrills of flying over Syria. Aboard a state of the art plane, travellers can watch in-flight movies such as American Sniper, eat delicious meals or just tweet about her/his magnificent [trip/conference/artwork about drones attacks] to a social network of preference while watching the sun set over mesmerizing landscapes. Below, a video excerpt:

Matthieu Cherubini is an artist living and working in Shanghai. With a background in software engineering and in media/interaction design, Cherubini was previously engaged in a PhD in the Design Interactions at the Royal College of Art (deferred since 2015) and then moved to China to pursue other goals. His work has been exhibited and presented internationally at venues such as Vitra Design Museum, House of Electronics Arts (HeK), Biennale Internationale de Design, Resonate, FACT Gallery and published in BBC TV and Radio, Wired, FastCompany, Libération, and El Pais, among others.

You may remember Cherubini as the mastermind of the outstanding Afghan War Diary (2010), an installation featuring a large monitor displaying virtual and real deaths: the website connects automatically to the server of online war game, Counter-Strike and retrieves frags (when a player kills another) in real-time. These frags trigger a chronological search in the Wikileaks database that contains over 75,000 secret US military reports on the war in Afghanistan.
