Game Art: Kent Sheely's "Ready for Action #10" (2016)

Kent Sheely continues his ethnographic investigation of weak social ties, mundane non-life, and daily rituals in videogames. Granted, waiting for public transportation in The Division does not seem particularly enticing. But what are the alternatives? The neoliberal exploitation of that anti-union monstrosity on wheels otherwise known as Uber? Calling your Tesla with an Apple Smartwatch to come and fetch you, autopilot-style? So many questions, one certainty: Ready for Action is not a machinima series. It's a meditation on the contemporary moment.
