GAME ART: JILL MAGID'S "OUT-GAME FLOWERS" (2023)

Jill Magid has created a new NFT project called Out-Game Flowers which is now available on the Artwrld crypto-art platform. This marks her first-ever NFT project. Magid's digital floral arrangements consist of flowers that were obtained by hacking into the source codes of well-known games such as Final Fantasy and Minecraft, without the owners' consent. Each flower in the bouquets holds a special significance in its respective virtual world. For instance, Magid has included the Silent Princess from The Legend of Zelda series, which grants players a stealth boost, and the Fire Flower from Super Mario Bros, which empowers them to throw fireballs. Some of these flowers hold tremendous value outside of their virtual environments, like the Black Lotus from World of Warcraft, which is so highly sought-after that players are willing to pay extravagant real-world prices to acquire it. The collection is comprised of 165 bouquets—15 large with audio and 150 small bouquets. Released on Valentine day, it is now sold out.
