Share
Developed in collaboration with Ian F. Thomas and Alex Derwick, Byron Rich's Autonomous Player Simulation (APS) is "designed to engage the hyper-real experience of communication-technology based interactions as exemplified by online gaming and military drones ". Rich invesitages the growing separation between physical experience and the immateriality of the technological simulation of physicality. Born in Calgary, Canada, Byron Rich  lives in Buffalo, New York where he obtained an MFA at The State University of New York at Buffalo. His work investigates "the mediation of experience of our biological reality (the physical body) and the natural world through the techno-sphere". Of particular interest is the "possible positive environmental ramifications of a decreasing dependence on the physical occupation of space."LINK: Byron RichSubmitted by Matteo Bittanti (Video from ISEA2014, courtesy of Bryon Rich)
