"6 th July. Nottingham, UK . The National Videogame Foundation is proud to announce a unique original exhibition, opening this September at the National Videogame Arcade in Nottingham.
Football Manager: The Beautiful Exhibition is a new, dedicated room which will celebrate and explore the history and future of this British obsession (turned global phenomenon).
The exhibition is going to be full of exclusive items from the Sports Interactive archives, featuring design documents, research schemes and creative materials which have never been seen before. Uniquely, the project is going to give a glimpse into how Football Manager itself works. One of the most complex, comprehensive simulations ever to be loved by the public, this exhibition is going to explain how it works, how it's grown and how that all important final score is decided.
New materials, hundreds of objects, unique new interactives - this truly is a landmark exhibition and marks the second major show of phase two of the NVA's curatorial plan. "Everyone on the SI team is hugely proud that a game which we started work on more than 25 years ago has now become a genuine cultural phenomenon. The fact that FM is now going to be celebrated through the staging of an exhibition at the National Videogame Arcade shows it's become part of the fabric of gaming life."
"It's been an fantastic year for us and we're proud to be working with Miles and the Sports Interactive team on this flagship new project. FM is one of those rare works of art that brings together audiences from all across society. It's really fitting that that we should be celebrating it at the NVA", said National Videogame Foundation CEO Iain Simons.
Football Manager: The Beautiful Exhibition opens at the National Videogame Arcade on September 8th, 2017."
