"This January LAVA is going to Mexico City for the LPM festival, a three-day multimedia event featuring audiovisual performances, VJing, workshops, panel discussion, product showcases presented by hundreds of VJs, audiovisual artists, new media professionals and thinkers from around the world.
For this event, Tim Abad, Cristina Fuentes, and Eric Medine will be performing "8-Bit Palimpsest", a performance of chiptune audio (made using GameBoy Color/ LSDJ/ Korg DS-10/ Korg MS2000B) accompanied by visuals generated using hacked NES (Nintendo Entertainment Systems) game systems and kinect video game controllers to alter the shape and appearance of the performers.
This is the first time members of LAVA have performed at as a crew at an international event, so come down and help them with travelling expenses by getting your party on at a fundraiser! The event will take place Friday, January 18th at Basswerks-- expect live performances, raffles, and lots of booze. "
